BEIJING — The 2019 China Cybersecurity Week, a campaign to promote public awareness of the issue, will be held from Sept 16 to 22 nationwide, the cyberspace affairs authority announced at a press conference on Aug 28.
The campaign will be jointly launched by departments including the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, the Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission and the ministries of education, public security and industry, and information technology, according to Liu Liehong, deputy director of the Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission.
Activities of the campaign will include an expo with over 100 cybersecurity and internet enterprises attending and a forum on cybersecurity technologies, Liu said.
There will also be themed activities to promote cybersecurity issues related to students, the telecommunication sector, financial sector and protection of personal information, according to the press conference held on Aug 28.
Liu noted that personal information protection will be one of the focuses and highlights of this year's China Cybersecurity Week.
