BEIJING — More Chinese traveled by air during the just-concluded summer vacation period, official data showed.
A total of 121 million passenger trips were handled by China's civil aviation sector in July and August, up 9.2 percent year-on-year, according to the Civil Aviation Administration of China.
Cargo turnover rose 3.6 percent year-on-year to about 630,000 tonnes last month.
China is now the world's second-largest civil aviation market. It is expected to become the world's largest by the mid-2020s, according to forecasts by the International Air Transport Association.
