BEIJING — More than 20 million Chinese students will read parts of the Constitution simultaneously via the internet on the morning of Dec 4, said the Ministry of Education (MOE) on Dec 3.
This activity is part of the MOE's efforts to strengthen education about the country's Constitution among students, said Deng Chuanhuai, director of the Department of Policies and Regulations of the ministry at a news conference.
Dec 4 marks China's sixth national Constitution Day.
The ministry has worked with the Ministry of Justice to release a syllabus on legal education and added legal content, especially on the Constitution, into the current courses for students from primary schools to higher education, said Deng.
There are over 100 million registered users on the legal education website set up by the MOE, said Deng.
A weeklong campaign was launched on Dec 1 in China to enhance the publicity of the country's Constitution.
