BEIJING — Chinese authorities unveiled 15 typical cases related to food and drug safety on Jan 9 to provide guidance for severely punishing criminal acts endangering food and drug safety in accordance with the law.
The cases involve illegal business practices, the manufacture and sale of counterfeit drugs, as well as the sale of fake liquor or harmful food, among others, according to the office of the central committee for comprehensive law-based governance and five other central authorities.
The 15 cases, eight related to food safety and seven involving drug safety, include major cases involving hundreds of millions of yuan and new cases of illegal and criminal acts committed via the internet.
