BEIJING — China has simplified procedures for procurement with public funds to cope with the need to contain the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV), according to the Ministry of Finance.
The procurement of goods, engineering projects and services for the prevention and control of the epidemic can be exempt from the means and procedures defined by the government procurement law, the ministry said in a notice on Jan 26.
There will be no need for approval in importing related materials, it added.
The ministry called for the establishment of internal control mechanism for emergency procurements to ensure the quality of procurement.
Meanwhile, all documents and instruments of the procurements should be preserved for future examination, the ministry said.
