Updated: February 12, 2020 19:26 Xinhua

BEIJING — A Ministry of Commerce (MOC) report covering 20 key supermarket enterprises in 34 major Chinese cities showed sufficient daily necessities supplies on Feb 10.

On the day of work resumption from the Spring Festival holiday, 92.3 percent of more than 7,100 supermarket outlets nationwide were in operation, according to the report.

The report added that market supply in Central China's Hubei province, the epicenter of the novel coronavirus outbreak, maintained its overall stability on the day, as the supplies of rice, noodles, cooking oil, poultry and dairy products were expected to meet the demand for the upcoming 10 to 15 days.

Meanwhile, the wholesale prices of various products remained stable, with the average vegetable prices in Wuhan down 4.6 percent from one day earlier.

China has vowed to arrange for the steady supply of daily necessities in key cities to win the battle against the novel coronavirus outbreak, the MOC said in an earlier circular.
