BEIJING — The Chinese Ministry of Education has released curriculum standards for subjects taught in secondary vocational schools in a bid to improve the quality of education.
The practice-oriented curriculum standards, the first of its kind for secondary vocational schools, highlight the connection between teaching content and social life and occupational needs while remaining largely consistent with that for ordinary high schools, the ministry said.
The ministry will be in charge of compiling textbooks based on the new curriculum standards, ordering local educational departments to carry out training to help understand the guidelines.
