BEIJING — Chinese public security authorities have launched a national campaign to ramp up efforts to crack down on drunk driving, according to a statement from the Ministry of Public Security on March 18.
During the novel coronavirus outbreak, the country has seen many major traffic accidents and typical cases with serious social impacts caused by drunk driving, showing the need of continuous efforts to inspect on drunk driving.
The police will also look into other violations, including fatigue driving, driving without a license and overloading, during the campaign.
The ministry warned the drivers that drunk driving is always a serious illegal act no matter when, and that no one should take their chances to drive after drinking.
