BEIJING — Most of the new locally-transmitted COVID-19 cases reported on April 16 are related to the clustered infections that have been published before, said a Chinese health official on April 17.
The Chinese mainland has reported 52 new locally-transmitted confirmed cases in the past week, the largest number in nearly a month, said Mi Feng, an official with the National Health Commission at a news conference in Beijing.
The commission said on April 17 that it received reports of 26 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on the mainland on April 16, of which 15 were imported and 11 were domestically transmitted.
Mi stressed to maintain outbreak control on a regular basis and prevent a possible resurgence and spread of the epidemic at home.
