BEIJING — A total of 24 patients of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) were discharged from hospitals on May 10 after recovery on the Chinese mainland, the National Health Commission said on May 11.

Altogether 78,144 patients had been cured and discharged from hospitals by the end of May 10, the commission said in its daily report.

As of May 10, 82,918 confirmed COVID-19 cases had been reported on the mainland, and 4,633 people had died of the disease.
