BEIJING — A total of 27 patients of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) were discharged from hospitals after recovery on the Chinese mainland on May 11, the National Health Commission said on May 12.

Altogether 78,171 patients had been cured and discharged from hospitals by the end of May 11, the commission said in its daily report.

As of May 11, 82,919 confirmed COVID-19 cases had been reported on the mainland, and 4,633 people had died of the disease.
