BEIJING — The National Health Commission said on July 23 that 15 COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovery on the Chinese mainland on July 22.

There were 240 patients still being treated, including 11 in severe condition, the commission said in its daily report.

Altogether 78,855 patients had been cured and discharged from hospitals by July 22, the report said.

As of July 22, a total of 83,729 confirmed COVID-19 cases had been reported on the mainland, among whom 4,634 died of the disease.
