BEIJING — The National Health Commission said on Aug 14 that 64 COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovery on the Chinese mainland on Aug 13.

There were 690 patients still being treated, including 39 in severe conditions, the commission said in its daily report.

Altogether 79,462 patients had been cured and discharged from hospitals by Aug 13, the report said.

As of Aug 13, a total of 84,786 confirmed COVID-19 cases had been reported on the mainland, among whom 4,634 died of the disease.
