BEIJING — The National Health Commission said on Sept 17 that 11 COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovery on the Chinese mainland on Sept 16.

There were 141 patients still being treated, the commission said in its daily report.

Altogether 80,448 patients had been cured and discharged from hospitals by Sept 16, the report said.

As of Sept 16, a total of 85,223 confirmed COVID-19 cases had been reported on the mainland, among whom 4,634 died of the disease.
