BEIJING — The National Health Commission said Sept 21 that seven COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovery on the Chinese mainland on Sept 20.

There were 173 patients still being treated, the commission said in its daily report.

Altogether 80,484 patients had been cured and discharged from hospitals by Sept 20, the report said.

As of Sept 20, a total of 85,291 confirmed COVID-19 cases had been reported on the mainland, among whom 4,634 died of the disease.
