BEIJING — China is expected to see busy highway traffic during the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival and the National Day holiday, the Ministry of Transport said on Sept 24.
Daily road traffic is expected to see a mild increase of 1 percent to 3 percent year-on-year during the eight-day holiday, with the COVID-19 epidemic situation now stabilized and strong public demand for travel, said Sun Wenjian, spokesperson for the ministry.
The country will continue to waive road tolls for small passenger vehicles during the holiday, starting on Oct 1, Sun said.
The ministry will take various measures to control the epidemic while ensuring safe and convenient travel, Sun said.
