Chinese mainland holds event to attract Hong Kong, Macao visitors

BEIJING — China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism on Oct 12 kicked off a series of online promotional activities to attract more visitors to the mainland from Hong Kong and Macao.

As the first tourism promotional event organized by the ministry since the country entered a phase of regular epidemic prevention and control, the campaign aims to help the tourism industries on the mainland and in Hong Kong and Macao overcome difficulties and seek common development, said Vice-Minister of Culture and Tourism Zhang Xu.

The activity was held on Oct 12 online in Beijing, Hebei, Guangdong and Hong Kong, showcasing the natural landscape, world heritage, culture, history and local customs of the mainland to people in Hong Kong and Macao.

More promotional activities will be held on Oct 27 and Nov 23 with the themes of study tours and travel by high-speed rail.
