BEIJING — The National Health Commission said Oct 21 that 22 COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovery on the Chinese mainland Oct 20.

There were 247 patients still being treated, including three in severe condition, the commission said in its daily report.

Altogether 80,834 patients had been discharged from hospitals after recovery by Oct 20, the commission added.

As of Oct 20, a total of 85,715 confirmed COVID-19 cases had been reported on the mainland, among whom 4,634 died of the disease.
