BEIJING — By the end of 2020, all educational institutions in China will have access to the internet, according to the Ministry of Education on Dec 1.
About 99.7 percent of schools in China have gone online so far, up by more than 30 percentage points compared to 2015, announced the ministry at a press release.
Statistics from the ministry also showed that currently, there are altogether 10.6 million teachers' terminals and 17.03 million students' terminals equipped at schools in the country.
The country will beef up efforts to promote new education models and teaching methods, and improve educational qualification, enrollment, and the environment of intelligent teaching with the aid of information technology, said Gao Runsheng, an official with the ministry.
