BEIJING — More than 750 crimes related to cultural relics were cracked in 2020, the Ministry of Public Security said on Dec 25.
According to the ministry, the police have recovered over 14,000 artifacts related to the crimes and arrested over 1,500 criminals belonging to around 150 crime groups.
Public security authorities around the country have increased the use of new technology to solve crimes related to cultural relics.
The police have built online platforms for sharing information on lost or stolen relics and launched a pool of talent specialized in cracking down on crimes related to cultural relics, the ministry said.
