BEIJING — China's Ministry of Education issued a circular on Feb 3, urging primary and secondary schools and kindergartens across the country to ensure campus safety in 2021.
The ministry instructed schools to strictly prohibit unauthorized access into the campus and to keep explosives, restricted knives, and other dangerous items out of the campus amid efforts to prevent school violence.
Hidden dangers in neighboring areas of schools should be identified and resolved, the circular noted, calling for efforts to ensure order and environmental sanitation in the vicinity of schools.
The circular also stressed measures to keep school buses safe, stop bullying in schools and prevent internet addiction among students.
