As of the end of January, the country's civil air transport industry maintained 90.18 million hours of safe flight operation, showed data from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).
Over the 125 months, the sector safely served up to 4.65 billion passengers.
With a good performance in major indicators, China has made significant contributions to the safe operation of the world's civil aviation industry, said the CAAC.
During the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-2020), the country's civil air transport sector realized 52.7 million flight hours, a 51.2-percent increase from the total volume in the previous five years.
China's civil aviation authorities stressed zero-tolerance for safety risks. These authorities committed to maintaining the safe flights of the air transport sector in 2021 by eradicating major accidents and preventing safety risks both on the ground and in the air.
