BEIJING — China handled nearly 6.4 million legal assistance cases from 2016 to 2020, rendering legal support to more than 8 million people, according to a government official.
A total of 1.09 million administrative review cases were handled during the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-2020) period, said Xiong Xuanguo, vice-minister of justice, at a press conference on March 25.
A total of 566,000 public legal service platforms at the village, township, county, city and provincial levels have been launched across the country over the past five years, Xiong said, adding that over 420,000 people have passed China's qualification exam for legal professionals in the same period.
