BEIJING — The Chinese mainland on July 23 reported 13 new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases, including 12 in Jiangsu province and one in Sichuan province, the National Health Commission said in its daily report on July 24.
Also reported were 22 new imported cases, of which five each were reported in Guangdong and Yunnan, four in Fujian, three in Sichuan, two in Shanghai and one each in Tianjin, Henan and Hubei.
No new suspected cases or deaths related to COVID-19 were reported in the day.
A total of 7,183 imported cases had been reported on the mainland by the end of July 23. Among them, 6,617 had been discharged from hospitals following recovery, and 566 remained hospitalized. No deaths had been reported among the imported cases.
The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases on the mainland reached 92,497 by July 23, including 681 patients still receiving treatment, 16 of whom were in severe conditions.
A total of 87,180 patients had been discharged from hospitals following recovery on the mainland, and 4,636 had died as a result of the virus.
There were three suspected COVID-19 cases on the mainland on July 23.
A total of 20 asymptomatic cases were newly reported. There were a total of 444 asymptomatic cases, of whom 415 were imported, under medical observation by July 23.
By the end of July 23, 11,973 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 212 deaths, had been reported in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR), while 56 cases had been reported in the Macao SAR, and 15,535 cases, including 784 deaths, had been reported in Taiwan.
A total of 11,693 COVID-19 patients in the Hong Kong SAR had been discharged from hospitals following recovery, while 53 had been discharged in the Macao SAR, and 12,501 had been discharged in Taiwan.
