BEIJING — The Chinese mainland on Aug 6 reported 75 new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases, including 53 in Jiangsu province, nine each in Hubei and Hunan, and four in Henan, the National Health Commission said in its daily report on Aug 7.
Also reported were 32 new imported cases, including 11 in Yunnan, nine in Shanghai, five in Tianjin, three in Guangdong, two in Sichuan and one each in Jiangsu and Zhejiang.
One new suspected case was reported in Shandong, the commission added.
No new deaths related to COVID-19 were reported on Aug 6.
A total of 7,628 imported cases had been reported on the mainland by the end of Aug 6. Among them, 6,903 had been discharged from hospitals following recovery, and 725 remained hospitalized. No deaths had been reported among the imported cases.
The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases on the mainland reached 93,605 by Aug 6, including 1,444 patients still receiving treatment, 39 of whom were in severe conditions.
A total of 87,525 patients had been discharged from hospitals following recovery on the mainland, and 4,636 had died as a result of the virus.
There was one suspected COVID-19 case on the mainland on Aug 6.
A total of 32 asymptomatic cases were newly reported. There were a total of 571 asymptomatic cases, of whom 388 were imported, under medical observation by Aug 6.
By the end of Aug 6, 12,004 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 212 deaths, had been reported in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR), while 63 cases had been reported in the Macao SAR, and 15,765 cases, including 794 deaths, had been reported in Taiwan.
A total of 11,724 COVID-19 patients in the Hong Kong SAR had been discharged from hospitals following recovery, while 57 had been discharged in the Macao SAR, and 13,018 had been discharged in Taiwan.
