BEIJING — The Chinese mainland on Feb 11 reported 40 locally transmitted COVID-19 cases, the National Health Commission said on Feb 12.
Of the new local infections, 30 were reported in Guangxi and the rest reported in Liaoning, the commission said in its daily report.
Feb 11 also saw nine provincial-level regions reporting 59 imported COVID-19 cases, said the commission.
One suspected case arriving from outside the mainland was reported in Shanghai. No deaths from COVID-19 were reported on the day, it added.
A total of 41 asymptomatic cases arriving from outside the mainland were newly reported on Feb 11, according to the commission.
As of Feb 11, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases reported on the Chinese mainland, both local and imported, had reached 106,863.
There were 1,436 patients still under treatment on Feb 11, of whom six were in severe condition. A total of 4,636 patients had died of the virus on the mainland since the outbreak of the pandemic.
