BEIJING — The Chinese mainland on March 10 reported 397 locally transmitted COVID-19 cases, the National Health Commission said on March 11.
Of the new local infections, 121 were reported in Shandong, 98 in Jilin, 36 in Jiangsu, 26 in Gansu, 18 in Tianjin and Shaanxi respectively, 16 in Hebei and Zhejiang respectively, and 11 in Shanghai and Guangdong respectively. The rest of the cases were reported in seven other provincial-level regions, the commission said in its daily report.
A total of 158 imported COVID-19 cases were reported on March 10, said the commission.
Three new suspected cases, all arriving from outside the mainland, were reported in Shanghai, said the commission. No deaths from COVID-19 were reported on the day.
A total of 814 asymptomatic cases were reported on March 10, including 111 arriving from outside the mainland, according to the commission.
The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases reported on the mainland, both local and imported, had risen to 112,940 by March 10.
There were 5,024 patients still under treatment on March 10, of whom six were in severe condition. A total of 4,636 patients had died of the virus on the mainland since the outbreak of the disease.
