BEIJING — The State Council, China's cabinet, announced the appointment and removal of several officials on Aug 17.

Sun Maoli was appointed vice-minister of public security.

Wang Dongwei replaced Yu Weiping as vice-minister of finance.

Zhu Chengqing replaced Lu Guihua as vice-minister of water resources.

Xu Jia'ai was appointed vice-minister of emergency management, while Pan Xianzhang was named deputy director of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council.
