Vice-Premier Sun Chunlan met with Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Malaysian deputy prime minister and minister for women, family and community development, at Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing on July 9.
Sun said China and Malaysia have maintained a traditional friendship, and their bilateral relationship stands at the forefront of China-ASEAN relations.
This year marks the 45th anniversary of the establishment of China-Malaysia diplomatic ties, an opportunity for both sides to intensify Belt and Road cooperation and exchanges in fields such as women, education, health, culture and tourism, noted Sun.
She added that both sides should work to bring fruitful results of cooperation to both people, and to let the countries’ friendship go deeper in peoples’ minds.
Wan Azizah said Malaysia attaches great importance to its ties with China, and is willing to actively participate in the joint construction of the Belt and Road, noting that Malaysia will put efforts to further pragmatic cooperation with China in various fields.
