Vice-Premier Sun Chunlan, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, attended the launch ceremony of the sixth National Public Ice and Snow Seasons at the Tianjin Olympic Center Stadium on Dec 12.

The event was jointly hosted by the General Administration of Sport, the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games and Tianjin municipal government.

A wide variety of public-oriented ice and snow sports activities will unfurl, along with those accompanying the China Winter Sports Festival and the city-wide ice and snow sports carnival. More than tens of millions of participants and visitors are expected.

Before the ceremony, Sun met with Vice-President of the International Olympic Committee Juan Antonio Samaranch Jr. and officials from international ice and snow sports organizations.
