Vice-Premier Sun Chunlan, heading a central steering group, engaged in fieldwork on coronavirus control in Hubei, Central China’s Hubei province.

The central steering group held a number of meetings to hear epidemic prevention reports and offer guidance for further control, treatment, research, and related information.

Sun said Wuhan and Hubei are the vital areas of the novel coronavirus infection. The local government, departments, and institutions concerned should improve epidemic prevention work and implement policies in an accurate and targeted manner, with strong faith maintained.

Departments concerned should stick to unified guidance, command and implementation of policies with a wartime mentality.

Coronavirus cases should be under severe control, with regulation tightened in fever treatment. And medical resources should be reasonably distributed, with better therapeutic solutions materialized.

Gravely infected patients call for timely treatment in full force, and essential medical facilities and wards should be opened promptly.

Medical staff should be well-protected from the virus and supported with efficiently delivered medical supplies. And further efforts should be made to optimize data release of the real-time situation.

Public opinion should be properly guided, with timely responses made to ease concern, to strengthen the social trust and present transparent administrative work.
