Vice-Premier Sun Chunlan, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, is heading a central steering group for field work in Wuhan to guide the supply of medical materials.
The steering group visited several medical material companies on the morning of Jan 29 to learn about the plants, warehouses and labs, as well as the production of protective suits and masks.
At an on-site meeting, the steering group coordinated the delivery of 12,500 protective suits needed next day by the province, and worked out solutions to other difficulties.
Sun said all measures should be in place to protect medical staff working on the front lines to save patients around the clock.
She also asked for immediate assistance to producers of medical materials for quick production recovery, and more green channels to facilitate transportation of needed resources and daily necessities.
The life-saving materials should be delivered to the medical staff in an efficient, rapid and direct way, she stressed.
