Vice-premiers Sun Chunlan, Hu Chunhua and Liu He joined delegations to the fourth session of the 13th National People's Congress in group deliberations on the Government Work Report in Beijing on March 5.

The vice-premiers, also members of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said they fully supported the report delivered by Premier Li Keqiang.

In a discussion with deputies from Northeast China’s Jilin province, Sun also voiced complete affirmation of the draft outline of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25).

To accomplish the tasks for this year and make a good start in the 14th Five-Year Plan period, Sun urged efforts to pursue economic development and improve people’s livelihoods while continuing epidemic prevention and control measures, to give them a greater sense of gain, happiness and security.

Based on an overall review of achievements in the past year and during the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-20) period, the report outlined priorities for this year’s economic and social development, as well as main targets in the next five years, Hu said during group deliberations with deputies from Central China’s Hunan province.

He called for efforts to consolidate and expand the current anti-poverty accomplishments, ensure grain production, and drive rural vitalization on all fronts, as required by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council.

Liu joined deputies from North China’s Shanxi province in group deliberations, stressing that China has seen notable achievements attracting worldwide attention in an extraordinary year.

Aligning itself with the country’s new development paradigm, Shanxi should create new strengths by continuing pilot energy revolution programs, implementing the three-year action plan for reform of State-owned enterprises, enhancing technological innovation, and reforming small and medium-sized financial institutions, Liu said.
