Vice-Premier Sun Chunlan, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, on July 24 sent a congratulatory message to the Chinese Olympic delegation, after Yang Qian, a Chinese shooter, claimed the first gold of the Tokyo Olympics in women's 10m air rifle.

On behalf of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, Sun highly praised Yang's self-composure, tenaciousness, and exquisite skills and hoped the Chinese Olympic delegation demonstrate the Olympics spirit and China's sports spirit during the Games.

Stressing that all members should stay healthy with sound self-protection, Sun wished them successful competition.
