China to speed up development of software industry

On June 29, Vice-Premier Ma Kai attended and spoke at the 21st China International Software Exposition held in Beijing.

He said software is the “core and soul” of information networks, and will play increasingly more important roles in promoting global economic development and progress of civilization.

The Chinese government is paying great attention to the development of the software industry, and has released policies to develop the industry, increase the strengths and innovation of enterprises to promote technology innovation, economic transformation and improve people’s lives, according to the vice-premier.

He said the implementation of national strategies, such as innovation-driven development, supply-side structural reform, and mass entrepreneurship and innovation, has assigned new missions and tasks to the software industry, so it is necessary to focus on improving software development to lead the future intelligence revolution.

The vice-premier stressed that innovation development and integrated application are of prime importance, along with strengthening the study of key technologies, cultivation of more talent, safety guarantee of the information network, optimization of the industry environment and establishment of industrial ecological system to provide support for social and economic development.

He also called on the international community to join hands, coordinate policies and regulations, exchange software talent and co-build the security guarantee system to bolster global economic recovery and the progress of human civilization.
