BEIJING — State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi held talks with U Kyaw Tint Swe, Myanmar's minister of the office of the State Counselor, in Beijing on Aug 27, and expected that Myanmar would make efforts to maintain peace and stability in the two countries' border area.
Wang said that China firmly supports Myanmar in its efforts to advance domestic peace process, and expected that relevant parties would sustain the ceasefire situation in northern Myanmar through consultations and maintain peace and stability in the two countries' border area.
The Chinese side pays close attention to the situation in the Rakhine State, and opposes multilateralization and politicization of this issue, Wang said.
