BRUSSELS — State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Dec 16 called on China and the European Union (EU) to make concerted efforts towards a more stable, open world.
Given the uncertainties in the international landscape, China and the EU should strengthen strategic coordination in an effort towards a more stable world, Wang said when addressing an event in Brussels hosted by the European Policy Centre, a Brussels-based think tank.
Confronted with the rise of unilateralism and power politics, China and the EU should uphold multilateralism to provide the world with more positive energy, Wang said, adding that against the headwinds of protectionism, they should stay committed to free trade to build a more open world.
