CAIRO — State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Jan 8 that China will continue to stand and speak for justice on the Palestine issue.
Wang made the remarks when attending a press conference with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry in Cairo, capital of Egypt.
"After more than 70 years, the Palestine issue is still not resolved, inflicting tremendous pain on the people. This should not continue," the top Chinese diplomat said.
China will firmly support the Arab Peace Initiative, the two-state solution, and the establishment of an independent State of Palestine that enjoys full sovereignty on the basis of the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, Wang said.
