BEIJING — A symposium was held in Beijing on Sept 6 to mark the publication of the study outline for Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy. State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi attended the event.

Speaking at the symposium, Wang said Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy, as an important component of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, is the fundamental guideline for China's work on external affairs in the new era.

Wang shared his views on the essence and profound connotation of Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy, and urged foreign-service personnel to take the lead in learning the thought and turn it into real results in work.

The symposium was jointly held by the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
