State Councilor Wang Yong called for more efforts to improve production safety and prevent safety risks to avoid serious accidents.
Wang made the remark during his inspection in East China's Jiangsu province from Jan 9 to Jan 10. He visited chemical industry parks and enterprises, and supervisory units with dangerous chemicals in Zhenjiang city, Changzhou city and Wuxi city. He also visited transportation construction projects and a large commercial complex to see the implementation of production safety management.
The state councilor said local governments and departments should enhance the sense of responsibility, and learn from experiences to improve production safety.
Wang said dangerous chemicals, coal, transportation and architecture construction are key areas. He called for efforts to improve the system and mechanism, push forward construction of the information platform, and promote advanced technologies, such as replacing humans with machines in high-risk posts, as well as online monitoring and early warning to promote the modernization of governance.
Preventive measures should be strengthened during holidays. Security management at crowded venues and tourist attractions should be enhanced, Wang said.
