State Councilor Wang Yong went on a market regulation and intellectual property rights inspection tour in East China's Fujian province from Nov 9 to 10.

Wang said local authorities should constantly deepen reform and innovation in market regulation, enhance comprehensive market services, and create a more favorable business and consumption environment in an effort to better underpin a new economic development pattern.

Wang paid visits to administrative halls, grassroots market regulation bureaus, quality supervision institutions, and patent examination centers in Fuzhou and Ningde.

Wang also learned about food safety supervision and epidemic control in farm produce fairs and food enterprises, and quality and brand management and innovation in intellectual property rights in local enterprises.

Market supervision departments at all levels should further consolidate regular epidemic control and market supervision, serve all types of market entities and play a bigger role in fostering a strong domestic market and promoting high-quality development, Wang said.

Departments concerned should further optimize enterprise registration, approval procedures and market entry, Wang said, to form an efficient, standard and fairly competitive domestic market.

He added local authorities should launch quality-enhancing campaigns, innovate quality and technology-related public services, facilitate the combination of domestic and foreign trade's quality standards and authentication, and assist enterprises with higher-quality supplies.

Further efforts should be made to beef up IPR creation and protection, enhance utilization of patents and brands, help enterprises innovate and develop, strengthen building of grassroots regulation enforcement teams and promote consumption with solid consumer protection, Wang said.
