State Councilor Wang Yong on April 29 stressed efforts to eliminate safety risks and prevent major incidents to create a safe, stable environment for the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, during his inspection to Southwest China's Guizhou province.

From April 28 to 29, he visited coal mines, non-coal mines, oil depots and enterprises producing dangerous chemicals, and new-energy batteries in the province’s Guiyang and Bijie city, inspecting the local work on ensuring production safety and fire control.

As the State Council is reviewing the production safety and fire control work nationwide, related departments should push forward the three-year special campaign on production safety and strengthen supervision and law enforcement in key fields, such as dangerous chemicals and coal mines, he said.

Also, responsibilities for production safety assigned to each party, especially enterprises, should be dutifully carried out.

Safety risks for newly emerging industries should be assessed scientifically, safety standards and oversight mechanisms should be improved, and safety measures should be carried out to ensure a safe development of new industries and forms.

Over the May Day holiday, related departments should deal with emergencies in a timely manner and minimize risks to protect the safety of the public and their property, he said.
