State Councilor Wang Yong met with the Chinese sports delegation for the upcoming Tokyo Paralympic Games on Aug 17 at the China Administration of Sport for Persons with Disabilities in Beijing.

Wang, director of State Council Working Committee on Disability, sent greetings and good wishes to all members of the delegation on behalf of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and the State Council.

He encouraged the athletes to surpass themselves and strive to gain honor for the nation and the people with outstanding performances.

Before the meeting, Wang visited the training venues for the Paralympics and inquired about the preparation details.

Saying that the CPC Central Committee with Xi Jinping at the core attaches great importance to the cause of people with disabilities, including their sports development, Wang asked the athletes to show good spirits.

He asked them to promote communication and friendship, and create a sound environment for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics. He also urged good preparations on epidemic control, accommodation and transportation for the Chinese Paralympians.
