State Councilor Wang Yong, director of the State Council Working Committee on Disability, sent a congratulatory message to the Chinese Paralympic delegation on behalf of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and the State Council.

On Aug 25, Chinese fencer Li Hao won the first gold medal for China's Paralympic delegation at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.

Wang praised Li for showing the spirit of self-improvement and striving for excellence during the Games, and winning honor for the nation and the people.

He expressed hopes that the Chinese sports delegation will compete with a tenacious fighting spirit and excellent skills, and jointly promote the development of the Paralympic movement.

Wang asked all members of the Chinese delegation to safeguard their health and safety, and wished them success in competition.
