BEIJING — State Councilor and Defense Minister Wei Fenghe on May 13 talked over the phone with Jeong Kyeong-doo, defense minister of the Republic of Korea (ROK).

Noting that the Chinese armed forces have made major contributions in combating the virus, Wei said that the Chinese government appreciates ROK's achievements in containing the epidemic.

China is willing to continuously strengthen cooperation with ROK, Wei said, adding that the armed forces of the two countries should maintain communication, promote practical cooperation, and jointly safeguard regional peace and stability.

ROK praises China's efforts and significant achievements in fighting the epidemic, Jeong said, noting that ROK is willing to strengthen communication and cooperation with China to jointly fight the virus and promote the continuous development of bilateral military relations.
