Xiao Jie, state councilor and secretary-general of the State Council, addressed a video conference on March 11, calling for an effective inspection of production resumption nationwide.

Xiao said the inspection is aimed at comprehensively following up with the actual situation of the national production resumption and navigate local governments through any hardships along the way.

The inspection should clearly showcase multifaceted circumstances in all regions, highlighting implementation of the different epidemic-prevention strategies, measures in securing smooth flow of transportation and logistics, in helping migrant workers returning to their jobs, and in speeding up projects that are under construction or just kick-started. Arrangements in spring farming, and implementation of preferential policies for enterprises, will also be included.

The inspection will act as guidance for local governments to help out enterprises and give timely feedback to the central government for effective measures on a national level.

Work groups of the inspection should fulfill their duties in a time-efficient manner, in an effort to achieve the yearly target of economic and social development, Xiao said.
