State Councilor Xiao Jie, secretary-general of the State Council, urged ensuring implementation of major decisions and deployment of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and the State Council, at a meeting on Aug 30 about the eighth nationwide inspection.
Xiao called for targeted efforts to ensure "six priorities" and bring stability in the "six areas".
He called for full implementation of major policies and measures, primarily in fields such as tax and fee cuts related to enterprises, expansion of domestic demands for employment and livelihoods, reforms of government functions for better business environment, and innovation-driven development.
He asked the inspection teams to fulfill all the tasks with strict discipline, making contributions to accomplishing economic and social development goals throughout the year and achieving a good start to the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025).
