State Councilor and Minister of Public Security Zhao Kezhi met with Lee Song Chol, counselor to the Department of People’s Security of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea on July 10 in Beijing.
Zhao said General Secretary Xi Jinping’s state visit to the DPRK last month ended successfully, opening a new chapter in the China-DPRK friendship. Xi and Chairman Kim Jong-un of the DPRK have jointly outlined a bright future for the two countries, noted Zhao.
It is expected that the two sides, guided by the important consensus reached by both leaders, will carry forward the traditional friendship, strengthen communication and exchanges, deepen pragmatic cooperation, and jointly push forward China-DPRK relations in the new era, he added.
Lee Song Chol said the DPRK is willing to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the Ministry of Public Security of China and make positive contributions to the development of bilateral relations.
