BEIJING — State Councilor and Minister of Public Security Zhao Kezhi put forward a series of proposals on strengthening the security cooperation of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) while attending the 15th meeting of SCO Security Council Secretaries on Sept 15 in Beijing via video link.
Zhao called on all parties to innovate cooperation methods, maintain strategic communication, and exchange views promptly on major issues such as regional security, combating the "three forces" and transnational crime, as well as network security.
All parties should oppose external interference and safeguard regime security, and further establish a consciousness of building a community of common security, he said.
All parties should deepen anti-terrorism cooperation and maintain regional peace, strengthen cooperation in drug control to protect common interests, and promote cybersecurity, according to Zhao.
The meeting also made preparations for the SCO summit slated for November.
