State councilor inspects Olympics security work in Beijing

Solid efforts must be made to ensure security work for the upcoming Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022, fully guaranteeing it will be an extraordinary event, State Councilor and Public Security Minister Zhao Kezhi said while inspecting the preparations for the security work of the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022 and visiting local police officers in Yanqing district, Beijing, on Jan 6, 2021.

Noting the significance of security work during the Winter Olympic Games, Zhao urged the strengthening of bottom-line thinking, creation of detailed security plans and staff deployment, and advancing of security preparations for the Olympic Games with full efforts.

It is necessary to focus on key links and improve security guard work during important games with high-profile figures, said Zhao.

Efforts must be taken to refine and improve safety measures, working mechanisms and staff assignments based on test events, so as to form a practical, effective and complete security preparation system, he added, urging the coordination of security preparations and epidemic prevention and control.

Zhao also visited advanced collectives and model police officers at local police stations.
